Mike Martin, DT Michigan

Martin is the anchor in the middle for the Wolverines. He is a very productive players who has a great inside presence whilst playing Defensive Tackle. What separates Martin from others is that he can constantly get leverage in a one on one match. Martin is a good fit for a 4-3 scheme but vastly undersized and inexperienced if he was put into a 3-4 scheme which he wouldn't excel or fit in. Due to him being undersized he can still win one on one match ups more often the he loses them. In turn he can then get good leverage and be in a good position to release and pursue the ball carrier.

Martin is very good at identifying the running lane and collapsing it. He does this even when he is blocked. He may not be the most athletic player on the field but he has a high motor which allows him to pursue plays and make a tackle. He does lack explosion off the line which he will need to improve in order to be an every down player. Going into the draft Martin looks like a solid player on tape but the combine could hurt his stock. He will most likely land in the third round of the draft.
