Taylor is one of those player who at the end of the season somehow rises on the draft boards and take some people by surprise. Taylor has everything NFL scouts love potential, athleticism and quickness. Making use of those skills this season he has worked his way up those boards. His 2011 season may have been not as explosive as last. He racked up 5 Sacks and 1 Interception which he returned for a Touchdown. Using his athleticism he can create havoc making plays on the ball at any chance. He has a knack for being a step ahead and is fast off the line showing good awareness and good first step. With those and his explosiveness off the line he can be a very dangerous rusher. A high motor keeps Taylor on the field and really does help him in his pass rushing as he is out there for nearly all snaps. He will give 100% at all times whether it be rushing the passer or getting to the ball.
He is a DE who can also contribute in the run game his high motor allows him to run after ball carriers pursing and taking them down. To a degree Taylor is still a raw talent. He relies on his quickness to get to the ball and make a play. He needs to make use of his hands to make him a versatile player who can beat you in more than one way. If he can improve this he will increase his presence as both a Pass Rusher and player. He would seem to be a great fit at Outside Linebacker in the NFL. As he seems confident enough to cover well enough but like much of his game it will need improvement. Going into the 2012 draft Taylor will most likely be a 2nd or 3rd round pick whoever picks him will be rewarded with a player who is willing to improve to get better.
