After redshirting in 2007, Byran was forced straight into action his freshman year. 3rd on the Depth Chart his freshman year Bryan did a fantastic job of stepping in for the top 2 TE's on the Depth Chart. During his freshman year he totalled 18 receptions for 201 yards. Using his size and height as an advantage he made himself a good red-zone threat. Due to that he ended his freshman season with 4 touchdowns. Going into 2009 Russell Wilson was at the helm and as a result Bryan was more involved in NC State's passing attack. He racked up 40 receptions and 6 touchdowns with his receptions being the 2nd highest on the team. 2010 many deemed to be his last year at North Carolina State he finished the season with an impressive 35 receptions for 369 yards and 3 touchdowns.
During the process he decided to stay and finish his career at NC State. His senior year wasn't as productive as his previous 2 but he stilled managed to record 30 receptions, 302 yards and 4 touchdowns despite missing the season opener. Going into the 2012 draft Bryan has dropped down the boards somewhat due to him being a senior. If he had declared last year he would of been one of the top tight ends probably landing in the 2nd or 3rd round. However due to him being a senior and his production decreasing Bryan will most likely be a 3rd round pick. If he impresses on his workouts and in the combine he could be a solid 2nd round choice.
